Switching software (or giving up the paper diary) feels like a chore because it looks like a project that will take weeks. It isn't: TonoLab is ready in an afternoon if you follow an order. This is the one we recommend.
1. Create the salon account
Tap “Salon sign-in” on the home page and then “Create salon account”. The assistant asks for the owner's details, the salon's details, the opening hours, the team and, at the end, your e-mail and a password. You can also sign in with Google or Apple. You start with a free trial with every feature and no card needed.
2. Set up what you only configure once
- Opening hours: the days you open, opening and closing times, and bank holidays. There's a button to load the year's national holidays.
- Team: each professional with their working days, their shift and the services they do.
- Business details: trading name, tax details and VAT.
3. Fill the catalogue with your services and prices
The catalogue comes with sample services. Edit the ones you offer, change their length and price, and switch off or delete the rest. The length is the time each appointment will take up in the calendar, so it deserves a minute of your attention.
4. Clear out the sample data
The app comes with sample clients, appointments, products, packages and expenses so you can see how each screen works. You can delete them one by one or start from scratch in Settings › Data.
Don't try to load your whole client list on the first day. Add each person when they ask for their next appointment: in two or three weeks you'll have everyone who really comes.
